A preliminary examination found the silicone filler had leaked into her bloodstream, leading to heart failure.American detectives are investigating whether she was treated with cheap ‘industrial’ silicone, normally used as a sealant, rather than medical-grade material used in breast implant surgery. WOMAN DIES AFTER INJECTION WITH CEMENT, SUPER GLUE AND TYRE SEALANT FOR BUTTOCKS ENHANCEMENT

A 'fake doctor' suspected of injecting a woman's bottom with cement, super glue and tyre sealant to give her a more 'shapely' rear has been arrested. Transgendered woman Oneal Ron Morris, who by his own picture appears to have undergone the 'butt-boosting' procedure himself, is accused of administering the potentially lethal shots to at least one victim.

The 30-year-old, who police say is a man but appears to look like a woman, was detained in Florida yesterday for the alleged incident in May 2010. Miami Gardens Police Department Sgt William Bamford said Morris first met with the as-yet unidentified victim to discuss the procedure. He said: 'They agreed on the price of $700, which was intended for cosmetic purposes.'

But instead, police say the victim was given a series of injections containing cement, mineral oil and Fix-A-Flat tyre inflator and sealant. The incision was sealed with super glue. Shortly after the surgery was carried out, she went on to suffer 'severe complications'. Bamford told WPLG: 'A short time later, she develops very serious pains, abdomen, throughout her body. She knows something is wrong.'

He said the woman visited two local hospitals, before heading to Tampa General Hospital, where she received treatment. She had developed an infection of drug-resistant bug MRSA at the wound and also developed pneumonia, but refused to reveal how it had happened. Doctors at the hospital, worried it was the work of an unlicensed practitioner, reported the case to the Florida Department of Health.

But by the time they started to investigate, the victim had left the area. Morris was eventually arrested in North Lauderdale in March 2011. He has been charged with practising medicine without a license and causing bodily harm. The alleged incident is the latest in a long line of instances where women have suffered complications following illegal bottom enhancement procedures.

FOR MEN ONLY: VITAL TESTS THAT COULD SAVE LIFE

For Men Only: Vital tests that could save life

This is for every man from 40years and above. As you embark on your daily activity, doctors says you must also adopt a body-maintenance plan to stay healthy and prevent certain diseases and conditions known to affect men.

According to a new publication, Twelve modern medical miracles by the Rodale Press Inc, USA, men do not necessarily have to stick to annual physical exam, though this is still recommendable. .However, there are some tests every man should undertake on regular basis to stay out of trouble. According to the publication, these test are safe, reasonably reliable for screening diseases that are more easily cured if theyre caught early such as colon and prostate cancers. If early detection does not increase your chances of successful cure, whatÕs the point of detecting diseases early? Knowing that you take a clean bill of health is certainly enough encouragement for you to stay healthy. Here are some of the tests recommended by the publication;

1. General Physical: How often should you see your doctor for a basic check-up? The American Medical Association (AMA) now advises healthy men over 40 to get a check-up every one to three years. Some other groups suggest a schedule of every three years, between the ages of 36 and 45; every two years for 46 to55 years, yearly for those over 55 or for those in a hazardous job or if you have a family history of cardiovascular disease or cancer.

2 Occult Blood Test: According to the experts, cancer of the colon [part of the large intestine] is fast becoming a major health problem among Nigerian men. It is also reported to be the second most common fatal cancer among American men .Although the risk for the disease increases significantly after the age of 40, it often occurs without any overt sign except hidden [occult] blood in the stool. This screening test can help detect occult blood and thus increase your chances of successful treatment: The American Cancer Society[ACS] recommends that men over 40 get an occult blood test every year.

3. Digital Rectal Exam: Still the most sensitive screening test for prostate cancer, the digital rectal exam involves nothing more high-tech than a gloved and lubricated finger. By reaching through the rectum, a physician can actually feel the prostrate. If it contains a hard lump or nodule, the physician will probably want to do a biopsy to check for cancer [70 to 80 percent of prostate cancers-the third most common fatal cancer in men- can be picked up this way]. The test also does double duty, screening for cancerous growth, or polyps in the rectum. The ACS recommends this test yearly for men over 40.

4. Blood Glucose Test: Since diabetes can harm the body in many different ways, its important that it be detected and treated early. ThatÕs the point of this test, which is often recommended every five to 10years.Measuring the amount of glucose [sugar] in your blood helps diagnose diabetes, hypoglycaemia and other hormonal disorders.

5. Urinalysis: Often performed as part of a routine screening exam, urinalysis can give valuable information about nearly every organ system in the body, especially the bladder and kidneys. Urine tests can reveal kidney disease, urinary-tract infections, liver disease, diabetes and other disorders. Urinalysis is often recommended every three to five years.

6. Blood-Pressure Monitoring: High blood pressure can be deadly because it may lead to stroke, heart disease and kidney disease. And-particularly if youre male, the older you get, the deadlier it gets. The only way to know if your blood pressure is elevated is if you get it checked regularly.

8.ECG: Although a routine electrocardiogram[ECG] is not advisable, a man should have at least one ECG by 40 to establish a baseline from which to detect any further abnormalities, says Ed Pinckney M.D., a consultant in internal medicine and co-author of The Patients Guide to Medical Tests. Its a way of establishing whats normal for your cardiovascular system. If later in life, you do develop chest pains or other symptoms of heart trouble, your doctor will have some reference to compare an ECG reading taken then.

9. Glaucoma Test: This is what your eye doctor does when he discharges that little blast of air into your eye. The test, called tonometry, screens for glaucoma, which is the cause of 12 to 15 percent of all blindness in the world. Glaucoma is caused by an abnormal build-up of pressure inside the eye, though it can go undetected for years in its early stages, it can progress rather suddenly to rapid loss of vision. It can also be treated if its caught early. Thats why this test is usually recommended every three years. It can be performed by eye doctors or regular physicians.

10. Complete Blood Count: The complete blood count, or CBC, provides tremendous amounts of information about the three kinds of cells in the blood: red cells, white cells and platelets. In men, its a useful screen for lung diseases [too many red cells] and anaemia [too many white cells].

ADAORAH UKOH: DIVORCE IS NOW THE NORM AMONGST NIGERIAN CELEBRITIES

From the look of things, it seems female celebrities are getting scared to marry these days because of the high rate of divorce in the showbiz industry. In a recent interview, plus-sized Nollywood actress Adaora Ukoh opens up about her marriage plans. I have no plan for marriage. So they should leave me alone. Why should people think that marriage is the solution to every girl’s problem.

There is so much attached to marriage. Rushing into it is making a lot of us get into the wrong hands. Divorce is now the norm amongst Nigerian celebrities.I am not saying it won’t happen, it will happen when it will. Besides, that is not the solution to my problem.

It will come very soon, because it is actually around the corner. I am only asking God for direction, because I don’t wish to go in and come out. So they should stop asking me such embarrassing question. (Laughs) I am still very single for now.

Asked, what kind of man are you looking up to? She said Over time, I have found out that you just need to marry your friend, considering the nature of our job. You need someone who will understand you. I don’t look forward to marrying someone from the blues, because you might end up marrying your fan if you marry such. So, really, I am going to marry someone I grew up with.

Someone who has been there for a while, someone who is my friend because there would be basic understanding. If I start a relationship with just any man which I have tried, I will end up marrying my fan who will be looking at his Idol on the screen and not the real me.

ONLY 40% OF NIGERIAN CHILDREN HAVE NORMAL NUTRITION

Healthy Kids programme, sponsored by Nestle, is a practical example of creating share value, according to the managing director and chief executive, Mr Martins Woolnough. Speaking at an occasion to flag off the programme and a workshop for primary school teachers in Lagos at the EKO FM main hall on Tuesday, Woolnough said the programme is aim at teaching the benefits of healthy life style to school age children in Nigeria content, giving them the chance to develop positive attitudes and behaviours towards food and exercise to achieve and maintain a healthy body weight into adulthood.

The Nestle MD emphasised the aims of healthy kids teachers workshop was a way of equipping teachers with innovative nutrition education techniques while helping them to improve their own eating practices and making them aware of the behavioural messages they give as role models.

Mrs Iquo Ukoh, a Nestle Director, during the presentation of Healthy Kids, said Nestle intervention is timely as a recent research by the company showed that only 40% of Nigerian children have normal nutritional status while 23% have good knowledge about nutrition despite nutrition teaching in schools. She said 44% have mild/moderate obesity while 16% are malnourished.

Iquo advised parents to create time for their children by providing healthy diet for them and not just giving them money which the children will only use to buy junk which cannot guarantee their health. She said parents should endeavour to build the children to a healthy adulthood who will in-turn take care of them at old age.

The 27-year-old prince, who's in the United States for military training but as hard as he has worked, Harry has also made time for lots of play. He was spotted at Wynn Las Vegas's Tryst Nightclub on Saturday during his very first visit to the Sin City.Reports have the ginger-haired royal partying beginning at around midnight and continuing until the early morning hours.

Donning a collared blue flannel shirt and light jeans, Harry went largely unnoticed as he bounced around the indoor-outdoor club, which featured a massive outdoor waterfall. Harry was seen chatting up a black-skirted blonde. He later danced seductively with her, with his hands around her waist and zero daylight visible between their bodies.

Grey Goose and tonic seemed to be the drink of choice for the partying royal, according to the report, who was also spotted getting on his knees and dancing for a brunette girl who was at his VIP table. It was 3 am before Captain Wales, as he’s known in the army, retired to his suite in the Wynn.

DEMI MOORE AND ASHTON KUTCHER, MARRIAGE OF THREE

According to diverse media, the marriage was fond to have lovers, liberal relationships and trios. Evidently now many speculations will come out, rumors, truths fifty-fifty, etc. I won't tell them that it surprises me, but they bother me a lot these questions when worst people are passing it. A divorce is not in jest question, it breaks a marriage and the whole environment where it was developed. In these means, they say and they speculate about the intimate life of both actors.

Among other things the press publishes that Demi MooreDemi Moore is bisexual and that the couple used to make trios and orgies with other women. It is said that to the actress Demi Moore 'he likes' more the women that the men and it didn't always get of  Ashton Kutcher all that she required. And that the question was public and notorious that because the all Hollywood was expert of the fact. There is even an interview to a such one 'Brittney Jones' and this, apparently, to know much of this question and their details, and I agree among the couple, to maintain this type of sexual encounters.

That is to say now they seek to sell us to a Demi Moore, bisexual and promiscuous, from several media. Is the question that arises me, will they have separated for that Ashton had lovers that it didn't share with her? Although it can be a way of selling their publications to coast of the informative speculation.

5 WAYS TO KNOW YOUR SKIN TYPE

Let's talk skin. What are the types of skins, and how do I determine which one is mine? Basically, we have four to five skin types and they are normal, oily, dry, sensitive and combination skins. Dry skin is the skin that is flaky. Someone with a dry skin will not have oil on the face. A dry skin usually appears dull, it feels dry and itchy. A dry skin is also sometimes sensitive.

Dry skin has patches. Your skin for instance is an oily skin while mine is a dry one. How to know you have a dry skin is basically determined by the weather. If your skin peels when it is subjected to bad weather, then your skin is a dry one.

Another way to know is to test your skin at home. Press your skin hard with your finger and hold it for some time. If the reddish colour on your skin doesn’t disappear for a long time that means your skin is most likely dry. Oily skin is not prone to patches and flakes, but it is prone to pimples. The T-line is always oily and the skin on your body is always fresh. You can know that you have oily skin by pressing a clean mirror on your nose, forehead and cheeks. If you notice greasy stains on the mirror, then, your skin is oily.

We also have combination skin. The combination has to do with dry and oily skin and you can equally have oily and dry skin. And a combination of all the skin types. The skin on my face, for instance, is dry and the one on by body is oily. Some people can have oily skin on their face while the skin on their bodies will be dry. The combination of skin is usually characterized by an oily T-zone area, (which covers the forehead, nose and chin), while the skin around the cheeks, eyes and mouth is normal or dry.

Then, there is the sensitive skin. Sensitive skin is prone to pimples and allergies and it tends to react adversely to cosmetics containing alcohol, synthetically manufactured oil type ingredients, fragrance oils, and artificial colours. Sensitive skin can be dry, normal, or oily. The normal skin is the best of all skin types because it is not too oily or not too dry. It constantly looks plump, moist, and vibrant.

Any make-up suggestion for these different skin types?

For dry skin, before you apply any make-up on your face, apply your moisturiser first. You need to moisturise the face so that the make-up will look perfect. You need to moisturise it before you apply foundation on it so that it won’t look too dry and the kind of foundation you use should be oil-based foundation. But for oily skin, you need to use oil mattifier and oil mattifying foundation. Basically, we Nigerians don’t follow all these rules but it is very important to follow them. And for combination skin, since the face is oily, use mattifier for the face and for the skin which is dry, moisturise.

How do I know the right make-up colours for me?

Any moment you go to a make-up store, you definitely will meet a professional. But if you don’t meet one, all you need to do is ask them if you’re allowed to test the products on you. If they allow you, what you basically do is …if you are buying a foundation, you apply two or three shades that are close to your skin tone to your jaw line. You should choose the one that best suits your skin as your colour. That’s how you know the right foundation colour for your skin. Same goes with your powder and other products you want to buy.

How do I treat my pimples?

If you have pimples, all you have to do is know what you’re reacting to or what’s causing your breakout, that is, if you’re under a lot of stress, if it is what you’re taking in – because you have to treat your inside before you can treat your outside. You should also know if it is environmental hazard that is causing the breakout, etc. So basically, you need to determine the cause of your pimples before you start treating it. For example if you have breakout and you immediately go for facials before determining what’s causing the breakouts, you’ll realise that the pimples will not go.

So what I will say is that you pay attention to what you’re taking in. I believe strongly that your make-up is from the inside, it’s not about what you’re applying on your face; it’s about you being nice, how you’re able to relate with people, your charisma. After you have first treated yourself from the inside, you can now treat your skin with antibacterial products like adding disinfectants to your bathing water. You should also reduce your stress level if it’s causing your breakouts, and then do facials and you are good to go.

How do I conceal stress from my face?

All you need to do is this: when you wake up in the morning, place two cold tablespoons that you had put into your fridge the night before on your eyes. The next thing you will do is to place sliced cucumber on your face and rinse your face with cold water before you apply anything onto your face.

How do I stay generally beautiful all day?

Well, the first thing you should do is to stay away from stress or anything that will cause stress for you. You should drink plenty of water to hydrate you, and to wash away toxins from your system. You should eat good, balanced food, stay away from the sun as much as possible, smile a lot and sleep well.

Is there a particular time I should not wear make-up?

I will suggest you don’t wear make-up when you’re going to bed or when you’re indoors so that you can allow your skin to breathe. If you’re going to make-up at all when you’re in the house, you do it minimally.

MORE THAN 200 MILLION ANDROID DEVICES ACTIVATED GLOBALLY, 550K DAILY

Apple may have the best-selling single series of handsets (iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S), but when it comes to the best-selling smartphone platform, there's no denying: it's Android. More than 200 million Android devices have now been activated globally, Google announced earlier this week, at an event where it unveiled its new Google Music service.

Just six months ago, in May during its Google I/O conference, the company said it had activated over 100 million devices globally, so in six months it has doubled that figure. Compare that to the first 100 million Android devices, which took about 2 1/2 years (from late October 2008 to

May 2011) and we've seen some serious acceleration. Moreover, over 550,000 Android devices are being activated daily, up from 500,000 daily in June and 400,000 in May. Apple had quite a head start with its iPhone, which first shipped in 2007, and in addition the total number of iOS devices that Apple cites includes iPod touches, as well as iPads and

iPhones. Still, Google is catching up fast, and unless something changes radically, it will undoubtedly pass Apple eventually. At the iPhone 4S Oct. 4 launch event, CEO Tim Cook said that Apple had sold 250 million iOS devices up to that date.

According to the latest report from Gartner, Android's global smartphone market share is more than 52 percent, compared with iOS's 15 percent. A recent comScore report, looking at just the U.S., gave Android 43.7 percent smartphone market share and the iPhone 27.3 percent market share.

Fragmentation is still a problem, but most Android devices are currently running a version of 2.x, according to the Android Developers site. Data from devices that have accessed the Android Market shows that nearly 44 percent of them are on a version of Android ranging from 2.3.3 to 2.3.7 (Gingerbread). Meanwhile, 40 percent are running Android 2.2.x (Froyo), but --- showing the poor uptake of Android tablets --- only about 2 percent are running Android 3.x (Honeycomb).

But today, she’s respected as one of the leading female rap artistes in the industry with many awards in the kitty.

Speaking with Hair & Style on her hair experience, Bouqui described her hair preference as dark, curly and short, stressing that she likes to wear her hair short. This is the reason why she wears her kind of hairstyle.

Asked how she came about her hairstyle, she explained that her hairstyle was created by her hairstylist who understands her adventurous nature. According to the rapper, she washes her hair regularly and avoids too much heat and over- relaxing on her hair.

On why she wears her hair low, she said “I like to stand out. Wearing the usual hairstyle is boring.” for her, moods don’t dictate the kind of hairstyles she wears, rather, she prefers to wear hairstyles that are in vogue. Bouqui further said she prefers the very first hairstyle with the touch of red in front and low cut at the back because it’s cool.

Because any hairstyle that rocks goes for her, she wouldn’t tag any hairstyle as bad. But she affirms that, “it’s time to put away childish things. Crazy hairstyles with crazy colours don’t appeal to me anymore. But heck, don’t take my words too seriously because I might decide to go back to my old ways ” she said with a ting of mischief.

Responding to the order by the House of Representative to stop the new number plates and licences, Chidoka said that he had not received the proceedings of the House.

He, however, encouraged Nigerians to come out en masse for the verification, pointing at the security challenges in the country. “We cannot afford a situation whereby a vehicle will knock down a person and we cannot trace the vehicle, because, without the number plate, we cannot know nor trace the vehicle owner and we want to put this kind of occurrence behind us,” he explained.

HALIMA ABUBAKAR: NOLLYWOOD ACTRESSES ALSO HARASS MEN SEXUALLY

Do women harass men in Nollywood? Yes, they do because a lot of confused girls that came into Nollywood lately don’t know their bearing as they just came flaunting their bodies and when somebody tries to show interest in them, they cry foul and say that they are being harassed, yet they were the ones harassing the men.

They do it because they are not ready to work hard because you can not tell me every man is harassing you sexually, so something must be wrong. Well, I’m an actress and when I am on location I see these things happening and when you try to advise them, they will tell you that they know what they are doing.

JUSTINE BIEBER'S BABY MAMA BUSTED

The Justin Bieber ‘baby mama-drama’ continues to take new and interesting twists and turns as recent pictures have surfaced online of Mariah Yeater, the lady at the center of the controversy, and her ex-boyfriend Robbie Powell together.

The controversial picture may yet prove to be damaging evidence against her recently withdrawn claims of Justin Bieber being her baby’s dad, as it shows the couple were still intimately involved about ten months before the birth of her baby.

Coming closely on the heels of leaked text messages sent to friends after giving birth in July, by the 20-year-old single mother which reads; ‘Pleeease ERASE ALL MESSAGES from my mom where she says Tristyn is Robbie’s son. I’ll kick u when we get paid. I’m trusting you pleeease. (Mariah Laci)’, it now appears her claims are suffering a setback.

Justin Bieber, 18, who became the first artist to have seven songs from an album peak at the Billboard Hot 100 in 2009, has repeatedly insisted he will take a paternity test to prove he is not the father of the baby.
