Queen Latifah To Launch Syndicated Talk Show In Fall 2013

The rapper/actress will make a foray into daytime television. Queen Latifah has announced that she will launch her first syndicated daytime talk show series in fall 2013.

According to NYTimes, the New Jersey native will produce the show through her Flavor Unit Entertainment in partnership with Sony Pictures Television and Will Smith and James Lassiter’s Overbrook Entertainment.

In addition to having her own talk show, Latifah is producing the drama Percentage starring Cam’ron and will next star in Ice Age 4: Continental Drift.

50 Cent has previously spoken on the fact that he’s never used drugs, but now, he’s explaining why he abstained from illegal substances. During an interview on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight,” Fif opens up about his background, noting that while he sold drugs, he never used them.

“I got a chance to watch a lot of my mother's sisters and brothers at different periods experiment with the use of drugs or alcohol and I see them respond so differently that I stay away,” he explained.

He also reflected on a bad experience he had with alcohol and why it’s driven him away from drinking. "I've had an experience that made me paranoid because of it and I stayed away from it following that," he said.

NMVA 2011 - Darey, Jodie Lead the Pack

The much anticipated nominee list for the yearly Nigerian Music Video Awards (NMVA) is finally out. And for the first time since its inception, the organizers are scoring a first in the business with the introduction of two new categories of awards, Best Southern Africa Video and Best Western Africa Video to cater for our West and South African brothers and sisters.

Leading the pack on the nominee list is Darey and JÃ'die with four nominations each. The duo is closely followed by Goldie and Freestyle who have three nominations in the kitty. Others are Omawunmi, Sammie Okposo, Dipp, T.I.V and Tipsy with two nominations. This year's award recognizes the upcoming acts and also music video directors with excellent videos.

This year's show in the words of Cally Ikpe organiser of the show promises all the trappings of a world class event.
"We cannot afford to take chances with our standards as the whole entertainment industry is also agog wit expectation and everyone is looking forward to the huge event."

And with the judges promising a transparent judgment based on merit, the gladiators are assured that only the best will be chosen for honours. In furtherance of the organizers believe for traditional values, this year's event has been tagged 'Celebrating Our Cultural Heritage.

And to add value to this year's event, the Federal Ministry of Tourism had during the week endorsed the project as a viable national brand deserving all institutional and corporate sponsorship.
