UPDATE: Joey Crack is gearing up for the release of his first mixtape, which will have a "street" sound. Fat Joe has revealed that he is gearing up for the release of his new mixtape The Darkside, Vol. 2, the sequel to his 2010 album. Speaking with XXLMag.com, Joey Crack said that his first mixtape will drop within the next three weeks and will sport a street sound.

“We have the mixtape The Darkside, Vol. 2,” he said. “We gonna drop the mixtape no later than two-and-a-half-weeks. That’s coming out super hard though. Not ever regular hard. It’s gonna be the hardest mixtape out; nothing nice about it. The mixtape is too hard. Shit coming out like what a street anthem mixtape should sound like. This is my first mixtape. We’re gonna put it out as a mixtape and hit the people with that raw, street, Joe Krill.” Additionally, Joe is working on his new album, which is currently without a release date. He revealed that the first single, “Another Round,” features Chris Brown and is produced by Cool & Dre and Young Lad.

“Then we working on the album too. We haven’t named it yet. The first single with Chris Brown is retarded. It’s called ‘Another Round,’ produced by Cool and Dre and Young Lad. We got joints [on the album] produced by Rico Love; it’s sounding great. With the album, we’re gonna make that music that everyone can relate too. It’s still gonna be hard, but it’s gonna be hit mania. You know exactly what it is. The joint with Chris Brown is a super joint. I got another joint I’m trying to get Maxwell on. You know, I’m talking to the ladies. I lost that weight, I gotta talk to them.”

Gucci Mane Still In Prison, According To Court Records

Gucci Mane is set to serve six months in prison and pay a $3,000 fine as well as restitution to a victim after pleading guilty to battery in an Atlanta, Georgia courtroom earlier today.

The sentence stems from an incident where the southern rapper threw a woman out of the moving car in January 2011 after she rejected a $150 proposition to check-in at a nearby motel.

Gucci's lawyer originally stated that his client planned on pleading not guilty on all charges. Upon serving his time, he will have to attend and complete 12 weeks of anger management classes; is forbidden to contact the victim; and has to pay $5,090.54 in restitution for her medical bills.

Fat Joe Loses 88 Pounds After Losing Friends To Weight-Related Deaths

Touched after losing several friends to weight related issues, Fat Joe decided to lose weight through exercising and eating six small meals a day. During the past 9 months, Fat Joe has slimmed down, taking 88 pounds off of his frame. According to the NY Daily News, Don Cartagena was able to do this without chasing a diet pill, opting instead for exercising and eating six small, healthy meals a day. For Joe, this was done specifically to deal with health issues, an important change he decided to make after recently seeing seven of his friends die from heart attacks.

The friends who passed away were all around the same age as Joe, something that definitely resonated with the New York emcee. "What's the difference between me and them?" he asked in an article for the Daily News. "Health doesn't discriminate just because I'm famous." Joe went on to add that his family also played a role in this transformation, specifically his daughter Azaryah.

"I can't leave my daughter behind," he noted. "I want to be here for her; I don't want to die on her." Joey Crack, who once weighed over 400 pounds, surprised fans with a 265 pound frame when he premiered a new video, "Drop a Body," on Worldstarhiphop.com. "I was always LL Cool J in a fat guy's body," he added. "[Now,] they're all trying to alter my name, but I can't see myself as anything else."

He said new nicknames his friends use on him are "Skinny Joe" and "Joey Flaco" (a take on Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco and a spin on "Flaco" being the Spanish term for "thin"). "I think I gotta ask Diddy what my new name is."This is not the first time Joe has tried to lose weight. In the past, he says he gained weight back due to a lack of focus but seems to believe this is the right time to make a change in his life. He explained, "It's like a crack addict - he hits rock bottom and he says, 'All right, forget it. I'm not going to get high anymore.'"

Longtime Fat Joe supporters will realize that Joe also lost an associate, Big Pun, due to weight related issues after the legendary emcee died from a heart attack and respiratory failure. The emcee had also lost about 80 pounds at one point but gained the weight back and passed away while weighing close to 700 pounds.

DRAMATIC: Upcoming R&B singer Dencia fights at the Headies

Yesterday night at the Headies Awards, fast rising R&B singer Dencia and another babe almost tore their clothes apart while one of them got her wig pulled, before on-lookers quickly came between them. Reasons for the fight are still very sketchy. An eye witness who saw the scenario says she was shocked to her nerves when she saw Dencia exchange blows with another lady. Also stating that, more is expected from her especially now that she is trying to stamp her feet in the entertainment world.

BTW Eldee dedicated his award to his wife, Dolapo who some say have been disturbed by her husband and the messy Mo’cheddah’s nude pic. The guy tried to win her back by telling the world yesterday how much he loved her (dolapo) on stage. SMART!

Picture of the day (Tiwa Savage)

At the age of 16 Tiwa Savage was destined to sing backup for George Michael. While puffing on her trombone near the back of the orchestra, Savage gazed through the rows of musicians and decided to position herself in the spotlight - singing in the front row.

An instant classic, folks about town in London started to take notice and she was soon sharing a stage with the "Faith" singer. Cementing her fate as an infectious musical force Savage went on to sing backup for Mary J. Blige, Destiny's Child, Chaka Khan, Spice Girl Emma Bunton, Kelly Clarkson, Andreas Bocelli, Sting, 50 Cent, The Black Eyed Peas, Eminem and Robbie Williams.

Currently, signed to Sony ATV as one of their premier songwriters, Savage will embark on a solo career and will release her debut in early 2011. Weaving an eclectic collision of influences on her record, the Nigerian native says her album will blend, "songs in my native language Yoruba and some straight up R&B soulful pop records."

Likening herself to an afro-pop Brandy, the singer, who also runs her own label 323 Music Entertainment with partner TJ (aka Tbillz), has collaborated with Chuck Harmony (Rihanna, Mary J. Blige), Warren "Oak" Felder (Chris Brown, Jennifer Lopez), and producer So Sick on her debut.

An avid songwriter since the age of 15, sessions with such heavyweights as Babyface, The Underdogs (Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears), Brian Kennedy (Jennifer Hudson, Kid Sister) and RedOne (Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue) led to Savage writing hits like Jaicko's "Oh Yeah," which features Snoop Dogg, Kat Deluna's "Push Push" featuring Akon and with production by David Guetta, and Fantasia's "Collard Greens & Cornbread," from the album Back to Me.

But writing for herself has been more rewarding. "I have political songs like 'Middle Passage,' which is about the struggles of African men in a foreign country," says the Berklee College of Music scholarship recipient and graduate. "And I have a song called 'I Think My Boyfriend's Gay.' Now it's really about what I feel like writing.

New scan shows Nollywood actor Baba Suwe has large amount of drugs in his body

This case is becoming more and more bizarre. Nollywoodgossip just learned that new scan showed that Nollywood actor Baba Suwe has large amount of drugs in his body, even though he has made many excretions without any trace of drugs.

And a Nigerian Federal High Court has granted the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, permission to hold the Yoruba star for 15 more days. Channels Television this evening reported that Justice Okechukwu Okeke granted NDLEA’s order based on CT scan results by a consultant radiologist with the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

It was learnt that Dr. Subhash Vijayvargiya, who consults for LASUTH, conducted the CT Scan and reportedly confirmed through the results that Baba Suwe has large amounts of narcotic drugs in his body.

NDLEA intelligence officer, Femi J. Osifuye, also disclosed that while on observation, Baba Suwe refused to eat claiming that he eats only once in three days.

D’banj fights Kelly Hansome over alleged copyright infringement

The stage appears set for a court battle between two Nigeria’s music artistes, award winning hip-hop star, D’banj and Kelly Hansome over alleged copyright infringement. A statement from Mo’ Hits Record (D’banj’s music label) media Company, Media Image Managers revealed that the duo would be heading to the court room soon if all efforts to make Kelly Hansome to withdraw the new song, a remix of D’banj’s I’m Feeling Good, which Hansome had released on the Internet, fail.

Mo’ Hits alleged that the D’banj’s song, I’m Feeling Good, was leaked in the process of recording and it finally found it’s way into Kelly Hansome’s hands who quickly did a ‘remix’. “It shows how slippery the nation’s entertainment sector is,” the star’s publicist said in the statement. The statement read: “Do take notice that Mo’Hits Records Limited is the lawful owner of rights to the recorded material (I’m Feeling Good) being touted by one Kelechi Obinna Orji a.k.a. Kelly Hansome or persons acting for him.

Mo’Hits Records Limited has not granted the said rights to Mr. Hansome or to anyone else. Mr. Hansome’s possession and offering of the material at issue is unauthorized, unjustified, inexcusable and downright illegal; the subject of current civil and criminal proceedings.” Mo’ Hits advised anyone not to “publish, offer, play, copy, post or howsoever treat with the said material if or when it is offered to you.”

Hansome through his lawyer had denied any wrong doing. “If that position does not change, Mo’ Hits will be left with no choice than to seek redress in the law court but in the intermission, any third party that does not want to be dragged into this litigation should desist from promoting the work in any form,” the statement warned.

2face Idibia, Big Winner At The Headies 2011

It was a night of surprises and big thrills at the much anticipated 2011 edition of The Headies as one of Africa’s biggest exports 2face Idibia emerged the biggest winner of the night scooping three plaques including two out of the big three awards!

The 36-year-old walked away with the awards for the Best R&B/Pop Album, Album of the Year and biggest award of the night Artiste of the Year. With ‘The Unstoppable International Edition’ released in 2010, 2face edged out other contenders like D’banj, M.I, Darey, Dr. SID, Duncan Mighty and Asa. It was all love though as even Don Jazzy climbed the stage to congratulate Idibia.

The highest nominee of the 2011 awards, Chocolate City’s Ice Prince walked away with two awards being the Best Rap Single and Song of the Year for the 2010 smash hit ‘Oleku’. R&B king Darey and pop singer Dr. Sid were also double winners; the former won the awards for Best R&B single (The way you are) and Recording of the Year while the Mo’Hits crew member bagged his first ever awards for Best Pop Single and Revelation of the Year.

Pop sensation Wizkid won the Next Rated Award beating other contenders Tiwa Savage, oLamide and Ice Prince to win the coveted prize of a brand Hyundai Sonata! While many were surprised to see Kennis Music R&B singer Capital F.E.M.I win the award for the Best Vocal Performance (Male) over Darey, Bez and Timi Dakolo, it wasn’t much of a surprise to see veteran rapper Modenine pick up the award for Lyricist on the Roll for the sixth time in a row.

The performances however varied; R&B singer Waje who won the award for Best Vocal Performance (Female) dazzled the crowd as she performed her ‘So inspired’ single along with Muna. M.I was also spectacular on stage; even though BrymO and Flavour where missing when he performed ‘Action Film’ and ‘Number one’, the rapper still got massive cheers from the crowd. It was however the Afro Juju king, Sir Shina Peters that had the best performance of the night  as he got the crowd standing and singing to his 90’s classics…

Sound Sultan also surprised guests when he brought on stage comedienne Princess and Eniola Badmus (Gbo gbo bigz girls in the Jenifa movie) to perform his hit song ‘Orobo’. It was nice to see Omawumi get back on stage after a hiatus as she gave a wonderful account of herself on stage. The singer who wore a two-piece lace attire, gave one of the nights best sets, delivering like a maestro that she now is, her ‘If you ask me’ single, backed by a 10-piece man band and supported by drama sketches by Gbenga Adeyinka and Tomi of ‘Tinsel’.

The biggest shock of the night was when Mo’Hits’ Dr. SID fumbled his performance on stage. The pop singer didn’t quite cue with the DJ who played the wrong performance CD. The two time Headie winner started out for a few minutes then stopped abruptly as he apologized ‘I’ll come back guys’. Sid must have forgotten that his mic was on when he cursed out while at backstage ‘F***k’. Maybe if the singer had opted to a live band performance just like every other performer of the night had done and excelled at, the slip up might have been avoided.

The night’s hosts – eLDee and Rita Dominic unfortunately and surprisingly, performed below expectations. But eLDee occasionally managed to put his act together while Rita, a truly brilliant actress and performer goofed all the way, often upsetting her lines with poor attempts at stand-up or poorly delivered banters with eLDee who kept puffing a cigar. Rita Dominic may go into record as the worst co-host the prestigious awards show has ever had. Thankfully, there were intermittent voice-overs from backstage guiding guests through the night’s event.

Three years jail for insulting Facebook posts

Gone are the days of freedom of speech... Read this article and provide your view below. The story goes as follows: An Egyptian court sentenced Ayman Yusef Mansur to three years jail for insulting Islam postings on Facebook.

The Cairo court found that Mansur ‘insulted the dignity of the Islamic religion and attacked it with insults and ridicule’. The insults were aimed at the Noble Koran, Islamic religion, the Prophet of Islam and Muslims. Cairo-based researcher for Human Rights Watch Heba Morayef said that ‘this is very serious’. The law used to convict Mansur is a vague provision and it has long been the recommendation of human rights groups to remove that provision.

Mansur’s sentencing came as the military faced growing criticism for alleged restrictions on the press and prosecution of bloggers. Ms Morayef said that ‘this comes as yet another violation of freedom of expression’.
