Ruggedman: Why I’m Making Clothes For Women: PHOTOS:

The name Ruggedman brings different memories to different minds all depending on what information we best remember him for. Whether as the green-horn rapper who picked on superiors like Idris Abdulkareem, and entertainment heavyweights Kenny Ogungbe and Dayo Adeneye; or the benefactor who introduced ethnic singer 9ice to limelight in the popular hit ‘Ruggedy Baba’ (2007) before both parties fell apart in 2010.

In May 2008, Michael Ugochukwu Stephens, unveiled his clothing line named after his birthday, 20th September Wears (T.S.W), at the Silverbird Galleria Lagos, where one-time Cross River state governor, Donald Duke was chief-launcher of the collection. Few months down the line, the buzz died down and T.S.W was out of the shops.

But next Sunday, September 25, 2011, a newly revived T.S.W will re-launch; parading a range of exotic male and female Tees, shirts, wristwatches and high-ended shoes. In this interview the award-winning rapper and T.S.W proprietor speaks excitedly on his ‘new’ baby and what was responsible for the hiatus.

Youba Star Actor, Odunladi Adekola opens up about GLO Ambassador deal

Few weeks ago, Odunlade Adekola, one of the very talented actors in the Yoruba film industry was made an Ambassador of CSR-friendly telecoms giant, Globacom alongside another top actor, Kunle Afolayan, who is also a force to be reckoned with in the industry.

Odunlade Adekola, an award-winning thespian won Best Actor of the Year in 2009 at the City People Entertainment Awards and in 2010, his blockbuster comedy movies, Emi Nire Kan 1 & 2, in 2009/2010 sold massively. In a recent interview, he talks about the Glo Ambassador contract. He said; I feel so honoured and important. Seriously I don't know what to say because I am still in shock but I just keep thanking God for his mercy on me.

I can recollect few months ago, someone called me from Glo office and asked for my details and personal data, so few weeks back, I was called again and invited to the office. But before now even after I was called for my data the first time, I never expected this contract and all of a sudden, I was in the office signing my contract as a Glo Ambassador which is a big one for me.

Asked about what has changed about him since he signed the contract, he said the major thing that has changed in me is that I have a particular Jeep that am driving which is yellow, so I can't be a Glo Ambassador driving a yellow ride while my network is green. Some people might not read meaning to it but when one or two people start talking about it, then it will become an issue.

Aside this, I don't think something is going to change because a lot of things that I do before entails that I respect my personality as an actor, a responsible man and citizen and I will still maintain that as a Glo Ambassador. It is not as if I'm being asked to manage a company in UK or anywhere outside the country.
