Kanye West says people look at him 'like Hitler'

Kanye West says he feels like people look at him like Hitler.

The 34-year-old rapper known for his outbursts was the headline act at the Big Chill music festival Saturday night, where he ranted in the middle of his set about being misunderstood and underappreciated.
"I walk through the hotel and I walk down the street, and people look at me like I'm (expletive) insane, like I'm Hitler," he said. "One day the light will shine through and one day people will understand everything I ever did." West received light boos from the crowd as a result.

The performer also defended the music video for his song "Monster," which features cannibalism and girls hanging from their necks. "Who saw the video before it got banned, before they took it down and before women's groups starting saying that a person that lost the most important woman in his life is now against women in some way?" asked West, referring to the 2007 death of his mother Donda West. West, who started his set roughly 30-minutes late, apologized to the crowd for his tardiness, saying he needed to make sure his performance was great.

"Michael Jordan changed so much in basketball, he took his power to make a difference. It's so much (expletive) going on in music right now and somebody has to make a (expletive) difference," he said.
The multiplatinum-seller is known for his outspokenness, most notably his diss toward Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, where he grabbed the microphone from her as she accepted the award for best female video and said Beyonce should have won it. In 2005 he said "George Bush doesn't care about black people" during a Hurricane Katrina telethon.

At the music festival, West talked about some of his awards show drama, saying some of his sponsorships were canceled as a result. But West closed his show on a positive note by paying tribute to Amy Winehouse.
West, who said he met the late singer a few years ago during Paris fashion week, played snippets of Winehouse's "Tears Dry On Their Own" and "Back to Black." He said it was "beautiful" to meet the performer and that she was "amazing. "Then, in Kanye fashion, he began to rant.

"Thank you for protecting your artists that are still here," he said to the crowd. "This is for McQueen, for Amy, for Michael and for all the media, can you lighten up on all your artists that are still here?" he asked, receiving a roaring cheer from the crowd and leaving the stage with his 3-man band and 20-something backup dancers.

Breaking News: MERCY JOHNSON May Call off August 27 Wedding

She’s bought all that needs to be bought; gone through church counselling and concluded on venues, catering and performances. She’s sent out invitations and the usual ‘aso ebi’… But, following the scandal that has now enveloped the entire upcoming wedding ceremony, the actress has confided in close friends she’s considering calling off the wedding.

Mercy’s groom-to-be Odi is still legally married to another woman, Lovely; making whatever documents he signs with Mercy Johnson null and void. Under the Nigerian Criminal Code, the act, called bigamy, is considered an offence and is punishable by law (usually a jail term of up to seven years or fine).

According to the Nigerian Criminal Code (part V, Section 370)Any person who, having a husband or wife living, marries in any case in which such marriage is void by reason of its taking place during the life of such. husband or wife, is guilty of a felony, and is liable to imprisonment for seven years‘.
It states further that ‘this section does not extend to any person whose marriage with such husband or wife has been dissolved or declared void by a court of competent jurisdiction, nor to any person who contracts a marriage during the life of a former husband or wife, if such husband or wife, at the time of the subsequent marriage, shall have been absent from such person for the space of seven years, and shall not have been heard of by such person as being alive within that time.’

However, a Lagos lawyer tells us ‘But we also have Sharia courts and Customary courts which recognize polygamy. So whether he’ll be going to jail or not depends on the circumstances of the marriage and how and where it was contracted…
Continuing, he says ‘whenever there’s a conflict of laws, the constitution prevails. But then our family laws are pretty dormant and it’s tough to find precedents‘.

Mrs Okojie says her husband allegedly abandoned her and their two kids and moved to Nigeria where he’s currently getting ready to settle with Mercy Johnson. If the wedding were to hold, the pair would be settling in Omole, in Lagos.

Sean Kingston: 'It wasn't my time yet'

When Sean Kingston decided to slip away from his Memorial Day party at his Miami Beach home and go for a Jet Ski ride, it wasn't his first run of the day, and he certainly didn't expect it to result in a near-fatal accident. Kingston, who had a friend riding as his passenger, approached a bridge he'd encountered earlier, but this time, tragedy struck.

"I went and tried to go under it, and when I found out that the tide got high, and I couldn't make it, I tried to hit the brakes, and it was too late," the R&B star told TODAY's Natalie Morales. "As soon as I hit the bridge I got knocked out. My face was in the water, and that's what crushed my lungs because I was getting in so much water."

An off-duty Coast Guard rescuer, Jonathan Rivera, happened to be nearby and helped Kingston get his head above water. Ultimately, Kingston was hospitalized and admitted to the ICU. He spent 11 days there and was off the ventilator when he felt a stabbing pain in his chest.
"He tried to die on couple times on us, but we just refused to let him die," trauma surgeon Antonio Marttos said.

Kingston recalls,"the doctors came running and they did some other tests and they found that it was a like blood, a blood fusion around the heart and a torn aorta."
Ninety percent of people who suffer an injury to the aorta like Kingston don't make it. Why did Kingston pull through? "The surgeon told me ... you had a guardian angel that day," Kingston told Morales.
